Occupy the Zoo at Nuit Blanche

Playing Occupy the Zoo: a numbers game Nuit Blanche at The Gladstone Hotel was a blast! There were many amazing audience moves made: some subtle, others more bold, mini revolutions led-with love, media distraction, Molotov cocktails, graffiti and...lunch. There are more moves to be added here once I have gone through all footage, sorry if you don’t see your move reflected here yet.

I want to thank so many people: a huge thanks to Antonio Urday for cutting, sewing stuffing, painting, building and more. To Queen and Mr.Parris, deb andrea singh and Victoria Mata for co-facilitating till the wee hours of the morning. And a special thanks to photographer Sam Javanrough for the more than 5,000 photos it will take me months to go through. I have included the video rendering here for the meantime.

Also to Asam Ahmad and Sarah Switzer for tech and props, Rees Nam for protest posters and getting the graffiti ball rolling, Jessica Mustachi for lots of little beaks, Anne Dzakovic and Sam Gibb for building the town square and making judges wigs with me and Eric Darricades for painting and installing work. And thanks to all of those who came out, contributed, appreciated the work and shared thoughts on everything from poetry about crow, to their experiences with activist movements and systems. your diverse perspectives made the night what it was!
