You'll learn how to save and share your moving picture in gif and mp4 and leave with skills to create more "motion photographs" of your own, for Instagram, promotional materials or just for fun!

We'll meet at a museum, talk about gifs and simple 2-5 image animation techniques. We'll brainstorm ideas and share tips that will help you take the best pictures possible for your gif. We'll explore exhibits together,  talking about the things we see along in the way, discussing all the exciting (and realistic) things we can create with the time we'll have. After we've all captured the still images we need to get animating, we'll head to the library to manipulate our pics into gifs using free online apps/platforms or photoshop.

WHAT WE’LL GET UP TO:

We'll visit ROM exhibits to capture images of things we'd like to animate/make move. Then we'll travel to a local digital hub where we can work on computers to make a gif using simple frame-animation techniques. No previous experience is required! You'll create a gif you can share through messaging and social media, you can even use your work as a screensaver on your home computer!
